Arborea started life as a rural hamlet at the end of the 1930's with the name "Mussolinia di Sardegna". After the Liberation in 1944 the hamlet took the name of Arborèa, the same as antique "Giudicato". The city conserved intact the structure of the rural hamlet with roads rectilinear and parallel. The architecture has been perfectly conserved and gives adignified aspect to the town, with agreeable buildings realized in varius styles from neogothic to liberty and neoclassic and from tirolese style to lombardo.
